2018 Summary: Ultras Górnik Zabrze

Interesting year for Górnik Zabrze Ultras. They made their first appearance in european competition for many years, although they didn’t have any interesting draws playing against Zaria from Moldova and Trencin from Slovakia. They had some very good away trips including over 2000 fans in Wrocław at the start of 2018. They made choreos in their home matches vs Wisła Kraków, Trencin, Jagiellonia and Arka Gdynia.

Best away match vs Piast Gliwice 03.03.2018:

Distance from Zabrze to Gliwice is very short (less than 10km), added to that fact Górnik have one of their main fan clubs ‘Torcida Gliwice’ in Gliwice means this fixture is always hot in the stands. For this match Górnik fans received only 500 tickets which were distributed privately. Usually the away sector in Gliwice is for 1000 fans.

During the 2nd half of the match Górnik fans hung a couple of stolen Piast banners which had been taken a year earlier, this was the first time since that event that Górnik had played in Gliwice. The match was suspended after home fans tried to break onto the pitch and police were deployed into the stadium to control the situation.

Best home match vs Arka Gdynia 15.12.2018:

Górnik fans celebrated 70 years since the club was founded in 1948. They celebrated with 1948 flares in the shape of the letter ‘G’. At the match with Arka Gdynia they celebrated more with an impressive choreo and pyro show.
